Objective

After the successful execution of their Las Vegas Market showroom, the Shifman Mattress marketing team came to stevensE3 for help with their space inside Bloomingdales in New York. They were struggling with their overall brand as a handcrafted and traditional company being in contrast to the contemporary and modern environment at Bloomingdales.  We were challenged to bridge the gap and make Shifman shine as the luxury brand that it is without losing their core message.  And they needed it installed in time for the Bloomingdales Grand Opening event for the new Sixth floor set for just 6 weeks away.

Solution

The stevensE3 design team started with a clean slate of white walls with stacked woodgrain back walls to help make the beds the focal point.  LED accent lighting on each side of the backwall brought in some modern flair along with the custom woodgrain headboard, contemporary side table and simple table lamp.  The Bloomingdales visual team collaborated with stevensE3 to create the perfect balance of color and finishes to fit in with the other brands while providing retail friendly features.  The project management team worked seamlessly with the building, the general contractor, local unions and freight carriers to make sure that each phase of the installation was completed on time and to spec.  Despite installing overnight during a Nor’easter, everything went smoothly and opened on time, to rave reviews. A Bloomingdales store planner was quoted stating "I wanted to send a note to say congratulations and nice job on the installation."
